Ossett Town Hall (conveniently situated ‘twixt Wakefield and Dewsbury), it’s magnificent stone carvings, along with the war memorial and market square, most be on anyone’s list of the ten greatest tourist destinations in the world. Social distancing wasn’t an issue – there weren’t that many folk about – and the locals speak in a way that will make you feel at home.
