I’ve spent a good part of my lifetime looking up. On the downside you occasionally walk into lamp posts, but on the upside you get to see some wonderful buildings. One such is the old Cycling Club building in Cavendish Street, Keighley which presents a magnificent stone façade to the world once you work your way past the garish proclamations of the shop signs. The building, which is said to have cost £3000, was funded by Keighley Cycling Club members and opened on the 2 March 1897. Those members will have long since cycled off to another place, but they have left a fine building as their legacy. Well worth looking up at.
