You don’t need to know the time, the place or t he names of the subjects to enjoy a good photograph. A degree of anonymity can, in fact, help; you can throw yourself into the scene and construct backstories and front stories to your heart’s content. The strange thing about these four is that they seem to represent four different decades – the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. What stories could they tell?
