It’s impossible to deny her anything. If she wants half your bacon sandwich, she gets it. If she wants to walk in her direction rather than your direction, that’s the way you go. If she wants the cover to lie on the settee, you sit on another chair and try to keep warm. It is, after all, her house and we are all just visitors.
