Back in 1973 my new job with the GLC meant that I was anxiously watching river levels in London, but that was not the case for 50 years ago today. On that day I was travelling north on a train along with many of my London-based friends, back to Halifax, and back to a rather important appointment fifty years ago tomorrow.
Fifty years ago today. Later today we hope to go back in search of the old Halifax Registry Office where we got married, revisit Kershaw House where we had the reception, and then enjoy a meal out with our family to celebrate fifty wonderful years.
The last of the 50 years ago series and where better place to leave things than on our honeymoon in Paris. Or was it Blackpool? It was a long time ago and my memory isn’t what it was!
